Anyone recommend any good file managers for windows? I used to love DOpus but it became difficult to pir8 and was far to expensive to purchase, not worth the price.

Now I switched to XYPlorer about 6 years ago and have been happy. Paid for lifetime registration. Anyone have any new suggestions?

I use Q-Dir, works great, used it for 4-5 years now.

On a side note for linux I really like SpaceFM, a fork of PcmanFM, (very low CPU toll) followed closely by Nemo (handles samba shares better IMO).

One reason is it's the same file navigator from Win 3.1X, circa 1992. It lacks efficiency as well. Kinda like why you would use multiple monitors or desktops. To each his/her own though, if it gets you by then I guess more power to you; however, I enjoy being able to log into an FTP, navigate network shares, manage local files, etc. all at once.

@simplefool never heard of Q-Dir. Checking it out. Thanks for the tip! Looks interesting but a tad unpolished...

Use the original one because it's the real and the best one.

Likely unpolished by Win8 or Win10 GUI standards, I'm stuck in a Win 7 time warp because I don't use M$ products, I only have an install of Win7 "just in case", I'm a Linux weenie.

I don't think you need one. File Explorer is more than enough for doing every tasks.
