Just tried SSL For Free (sslforfree.com) and was surprised how easy it was to get a free certificate and install it. Downside is that it expires in 90 days, but the site sends out an email first 1 week before then two more reminders I think, so not bad, and given I'm only using it on a staging server, I'd say not bad at all!

I don't need cheap SSL, because I use free SSL.
