i doubt it , the governments are definitely scared of cryptos with full anonymity because if they crack down on open cryptos like bitcoin or ethereum all the wealth in the cryptospace will flow to cryptos like xmr reducing their enforcment capabilities even more.

short answer: NO
Nothing to be concerned of. However, it is not an asset that I would hold just a vehicle for private short term transactions.
Also another cryptos like Litecoin are adding a 2nd privacy layer by enabling MimbleWinble.

Why wouldn't you hold XMR ?
Is Litecoin more private than Monero?
What's the best crypto to keep money safe?

It's a good idea to hold a bunch of different currencies. Privacy coins like Monero are certainly useful beyond simple capital appreciation.

Nothing is 'More' private than Monero, and Litecoin is certainly 'Less' private than Monero.

I never said XMR is not for holding, I was refering 'it is not in trouble'

XMR is more private than LTC is ever going to be, period. However in my opinion both cryptos are for short term use, not long term holding like BTC.

When you say 'short term' are you saying for money laundering and hitmen one time payments...HEHE. Could you explain the difference between long-term BTC vs short term cryptos, and which is best used for which, and when. Or you can always give a link that explains it all, totally up to you. Thanks in advanced.

There is not such reference that I'm aware of. Sorry for not providing a link or article, I'm speaking from my own experience being involved in cryptos since 2012.
LTC is fast and cheap by design which makes it ideal for micro transactions, both are well established altcoins intended as alternative payments methods not store of value per se.. even both protocols & market caps combined can't compete against BTC alone.

Could you tell me where one can best acquire monero and cheaper transfer fees from and to fiat, or is it better to mine the crypto ?
