Corell and Photoshop are 2 different products with different usages. You can compare Corel with Adobe Illustrator.

in my opinion Photoshop you can use it for both cmyk or rgb. too many option to use instead of Coral Draw. but its up you. what you want to do with it basically Photoshop is a raster image base and coral draw is vector base now its upto you what you want

Photoshop is raster software based on pixel and is best for image editing. Whereas coreldraw is vector software which is best for creating illustrations

For beginner I suggest you learn difference between these tools. Identify what is end game. Is it Image/Photo editing or Vector Graphics editing?

GIMP is FREE tool to help edit your images add filters and special effects as many as in Photoshop.-https://www.gimp.org (runs on Linux, Mac, Windows)

Inkscape is FREE tool that helps create vector graphics from logos, bronchure, poster, icons for websites absolutely anything. It has many useful extensions very good tool for beginner.

I love open source and i support it. I dont see why i pay for something i can get free.

Personally, I prefer Photoshop, for its robustness and graphic quality plus it can be used seamlessly with other adobe software's such as adobe xd, illustrator etc.
