Anyone here using Microsoft Azure? I was thinking of using their VM's but seem to have a lot of difficulty getting a Linux image to work. I have others with other providers and they work fine.

Thanks for any feedback

Azure is fine but I would suggest if you can try some other options as well. Though Azure offers industry best VMs.

I use Oracle VirtualBox with few issues. I'm a Unix guy though, so I basically go with those options first. Server flavor isn't too big a deal, should be an LTS Linux distro though.

Azure has a marketplace with free and paid operating systems you can use to provision VMs, or alternatively just upload your own image/blob. I don't fancy the networking in Azure at all, but it's good for what it is - a scalable cloud service.
